Dear Participants,
I take pleasure to invite you to attend the “FOREIGN TRADE
LOGISTICS CONFERENCE” (FTLOG) to be held on 14-15 October 2008, in Mersin, Turkey.
FTLOG aims at bringing together foreign trade and logistics professionals from government and commercial organizations worldwide to foster cooperation and coordination in solving existing problems and creating new opportunities for sectoral development.
As you may appreciate, during the last decade we have witnessed significant developments resulting in profound changes in the way countries and enterprises organize their logistics operations. Today, in order to succeed in highly competitive global economy, increasing efficiency is essential for further development of the logistics sector. The growth of the goods’ flow between Asia and Europe created a need for identifying new transport routes and methods. Furthermore, the recent developments in information and communication technologies has led to significant changes in logistics processes where reliability and price effectiveness has become the major concerns of the logistics service purchasers.
Within this general framework, I firmly believe that intensive consultations among logistics service providers and purchasers are of utmost importance and FTLOG will constitute a unique platform for dialog and cooperation in this regard.
I would also like to note that Mersin with its favorable geographical location, strong transport connections, dynamic industry and its potential to become the logistics hub of the Middle East and Mediterranean is the ideal venue for such an important event. Moreover, I am certain that Mersin, which is located at the crossroads of cultures and religions, offers the visitors delightful attractions.
I look forward to welcoming you in Mersin.
